Season chicken with garlic and herb seasoning. Cut tenderloins into bite-size pieces.
Heat oil over medium-high heat in a large skillet or Dutch oven. Add chicken and cook until golden brown. Add garlic cloves and onion. Cook for 30 seconds.
Add chicken broth and orzo pasta. Reduce heat and simmer over medium heat for 15 to 18 minutes, until the orzo is tender.
Stir in parsley and parmesan cheese. Serve immediately.
Notes:
You can use any uncooked chicken you prefer. Chicken breasts, chicken tenderloins, or chicken thighs all work great.
I use McCormick's Salt-Free Garlic and Herb seasoning.
What can I add to the dish?
baby spinach
broccoli
artichokes
asparagus
tomatoes
carrots
fennel
leeks
fresh herbs such as basil
I make this recipe in a large skillet. You can also make it in a Dutch oven.
Add a splash of heavy cream or chicken broth if the orzo is too thick.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Reheat in the microwave.
You may need to add some extra liquid to the pasta.
