Frozen Peanut Butter Pie Recipe - so easy and delicious! Make in advance and freeze for a quick dessert! Great for cookouts and dinner parties. Homemade crust made from dry roasted peanuts, graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and butter. Add a layer of melted chocolate chip and top with a filling of fresh whipped cream, peanut butter, cream cheese, milk, and powdered sugar. I could not stop eating this delicious pie! #dessert #pie #peanutbutter
Combine peanuts, graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter. Press into the bottom and up sides of a 9-inch pie plate. Bake for 10 minutes.
Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle bottom of crust with chocolate chips. Once chips are melted, spread into a thin layer.
Using an electric mixer, whip heavy cream until soft peaks form. Set aside.
Using the same mixer, beat together cream cheese and peanut butter. Add milk and powdered sugar.
Carefully fold whipped cream into peanut butter mixture.
Pour peanut butter filling into baked crust. Cover and freeze until firm or overnight.
Remove from the freezer allow to thaw for 30 minutes on the counter before serving.
Notes:
You can totally skip adding the layer of chocolate if you wish. I sometimes skip making the crust and use pre-made graham cracker crusts.
This pie is also great with an Oreo cookie crust. It is also delicious with a pretzel crust or regular baked pie crust.
I usually make this pie the day before serving. I take the pie out of the freezer about 30 minutes before serving so it will be soft enough to cut.
Does Peanut Butter Pie need to be refrigerated? Yes! You need to store any leftover pie covered in the refrigerator. It will last 4 or 5 days in the fridge.
Can use smooth or crunchy peanut butter. I used Jif peanut butter.
