Crack Pigs in a Blanket - pigs in a blanket loaded with cheddar, bacon and ranch - OH MY GOODNESS!!! Only 5 ingredients and ready in about 15 minutes. Crescent rolls, cheddar, bacon, ranch dressing, and lit'l smokies. Can assemble in advance and refrigerate until ready to bake. Great for parties! These things FLY off the plate!!! I almost always double the recipe and never have any leftovers. #superbowl #tailgating #pigsinablanket #appetizer #fingerfood
Unroll both cans of the dough; separate into 12 triangles.
Spread a heaping teaspoon of Ranch dressing on each triangle. Cut each triangle lengthwise into 3 narrow triangles.
Place a slice of cheese on each triangle. Top cheese with a piece of bacon and a sausage on the wide side of each triangle. Roll up. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes:
You may have a few leftover lit'l smokies. Most packages have approximately 40 sausages. This recipe makes 36 pigs in a blanket.I use a pizza cutter to cut crescent rolls into three triangles. Can use regular or low-fat crescent rolls.I like Ken's Ranch Dressing or Hidden Valley Ranch. You can also use our Homemade Outback Ranch Dressing: https://www.plainchicken.com/copycat-outback-ranch-dressing/Can substitute precooked turkey bacon for regular pork bacon. You can assemble the pigs in a blanket and refrigerate them for a few hours before baking. This appetizer is good hot out of the oven or cooled to room temperature. I think these taste best the day they are baked. If you are transporting these to a party, look at getting an insulated carrier. I like this one from Pyrex: (affiliate link) https://amzn.to/3kk5ggsThis recipe makes 3 dozen pigs in a blanket. I estimate each person will eat about 4 pigs in a blanket depending on what else you serve. I would say that is enough for 9 to 10 people.
