Three Cheese Italian Sausage Alfredo Bake - great make-ahead pasta dish. Penne pasta, alfredo sauce, sour cream, ricotta, garlic, Italian sausage, eggs, parmesan, and mozzarella cheese. SO good!! We make this at least once a month! Can freeze half for later. This is THE BEST pasta casserole we've ever eaten!!! #casserole #freezermeal #pasta #pastacasserole
Preheat oven to 350ºF. Lightly spray a 9x13-inch pan with cooking spray.
In a large skillet, cook sausage until no longer pink. Drain fat.
Prepare pasta according to package directions; drain and return to pot. Add cooked sausage, Alfredo sauce, sour cream, ricotta, garlic, eggs, parmesan and parsley. Stir well.
Pour pasta mixture into prepared pan and top with mozzarella cheese.
Bake, uncovered, for 30 to 40 minutes, until bubbly.
Notes:
Can substitute a roll of breakfast sausage for the Italian sausage.
Can substitute ground beef or ground turkey for sausage.
I used penne pasta. Feel free to substitute elbow macaroni, rigatoni, or fusilli.
This can be made ahead of time and refrigerated overnight.
You can assemble the casserole and freeze for later. To bake after freezing, thaw completely and bake as directed.
Write the baking directions on the foil covering the pan so you know what temperature and time to cook the casserole.
You can freeze the baked casserole for later. To reheat after freezing, thaw completely. Cover with aluminum foil and bake at 350ºF for 35 to 45 minutes.
This makes a lot of pasta. You can split it between two 9x9-inch pans and freeze one for later.
