Make-Ahead Homemade Pizza Dough - the BEST tasting homemade pizza dough recipe! Super easy to make and easy to roll out. Flour, salt, olive oil, yeast, and water. Make the dough at least 24 hours in advance and will it keep in the refrigerator for 3 or 4 days. We make this at least once a week! It is our go-to weeknight pizza!
In the bowl of an electric mixer, combine flour, yeast, and salt. With the mixer running on low speed (with paddle attachment), drizzle in olive oil until combined with flour. Next, pour in water and mix until just combined.
Coat a separate mixing bowl with a light drizzle of olive oil, and form the dough into a ball. Toss to coat dough in olive oil, then cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator until you are ready to bake.
T make the pizza, preheat the oven to 500ºF.
Shape the dough into a circle and top with sauce, cheese, and your favorite toppings.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes, or until crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
Notes:
It’s best to make the dough at least 24 hours in advance, and 3 or 4 days is even better.
You can shape the dough into any shape you prefer - circle, square, oblong.
This recipe will make one 14-inch thin crust pizza. You can cut the dough in half and make two personal pizzas if you prefer.
Feel free to double the recipe if you want to make two pizzas.
Can pizza dough be frozen? Yes! You can freeze it immediately after baking or after it has been in the refrigerator 24 hours. The dough can be frozen for up to three months and just needs to be thawed in the fridge overnight before you use it.
