Mexican Sausage Balls - our favorite sausage balls kicked up with taco seasoning and green chiles. Can make ahead of time and freeze unbaked for a quick snack later. Serve with some salsa or a mixture of salsa and ranch. SO GOOD! Sausage, cream cheese, green chiles, taco seasoning, and cheese. These things fly off the plate at parties! Also great for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacking. We love this easy Mexican appetizer recipe!
Mix all ingredients until well combined. (I use my KitchenAid mixer with the dough hook attachment) Roll into 1-inch balls.
Bake for 18 to 22 minutes, or until brown.
Sausage balls may be frozen uncooked. If baking frozen, add a few minutes to the baking time.
Notes:
I used Jimmy Dean Hot Sausage.
You can substitute turkey sausage for the pork sausage.

If you don't have a heavy-duty stand mixer, you can mix the sausage mixture by hand.
Can sausage balls be made in advance? Yes! You can form the sausage mixture into balls and refrigerate them overnight.
Can sausage balls be frozen? Yes! You can form the sausage mixture into balls and freeze them unbaked. Just pop them in the oven frozen and add a couple of minutes to the baking time. I always have a batch of sausage balls in the freezer for a quick snack.
