Pizza Meatloaf – the BEST meatloaf recipe! Even meatloaf haters will LOVE this! It is basically a giant Italian meatball stuffed with mozzarella! SO easy to make and tastes great! Ground beef, Italian sausage, pepperoni, mozzarella, egg, oats, Italian seasoning, garlic, onion, oregano, salt, pepper, and milk. Top the meatloaf with pizza sauce. Serve with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. Comfort food at its best! Leftovers are great on a sandwich.
Gently mix together ground beef, Italian sausage, pepperoni, mozzarella, egg, oats, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, and milk.
Press meat mixture into a 9x5-inch loaf pan or meatloaf pan.
Spread pizza sauce over the meatloaf.
Bake for 40 to 50 minutes, until firm.
Notes:
I used a meatloaf pan for this recipe. I love my meatloaf pan! It has an insert that keeps the meatloaf from sitting in the bottom of the pan. This helps keep the grease off the bottom of the meatloaf and makes it so much easier to get it out of the pan!
To make Pizza Meatloaf gluten-free use gluten-free oats.
I prefer to use mini pepperoni in this recipe. You can also use chopped pepperoni.
You can substitute ground turkey and turkey sausage for the ground beef and Italian sausage.
Can You Make Meatloaf in Advance? You can definitely make the meatloaf the night before and keep it in the refrigerator overnight. Just pop it in the oven when you get home from work and dinner is a breeze!
Can You Freeze Meatloaf? Sure! If you are freezing the meatloaf unbaked, I recommend waiting to add the pizza sauce until you are ready to bake. When you are ready to bake the frozen meatloaf, thaw completely in the refrigerator. Top the thawed meatloaf with the pizza sauce and bake as directed.
You can also freeze the cooked meatloaf for a quick meal later. I like to go ahead and cut the meatloaf into slices before freezing. To reheat the meatloaf, thaw completely and reheat in the microwave or covered in the oven.
