Chicken & Gravy Casserole - comfort food at its best! So simple and tastes AMAZING! Chicken, gravy mix, chicken broth, cream of chicken soup, flour, butter, buttermilk, and pepper. Can add frozen mixed vegetables to the casserole. Ready to eat in 30 minutes! This is definitely going in the dinner rotation!
Preheat oven to 425ºF. Lightly spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
Spread chicken into baking dish. Whisk together gravy mix, chicken broth & soup. Pour over chicken.
Mix melted butter, flour, pepper & buttermilk, and spread evenly over chicken.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until browned on top.
Notes:
I used a rotisserie chicken for the cooked chicken in this recipe. It worked great.
This would also be good with some leftover holiday turkey.
I used McCormick Chicken Gravy Mix.
I suggest using low-sodium or salt-free chicken broth.
Sometimes I like to add a cup or so of frozen mixed vegetables to the chicken mixture. This is a great recipe to sneak in some veggies into!
To make homemade self-rising flour: combine 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1½ tsp baking powder, and 1/4 tsp salt
If you need a gluten-free casserole, you can substitute McCormick gluten-free Turkey Gravy mix, gluten-free baking mix for the flour, and gluten-free cream of chicken soup. You can find gluten-free cream of chicken soup at Walmart.
