Taco Crescents - Only 5 ingredients and ready to eat in under 30 minutes! Taco meat, cream cheese, and cheddar wrapped in crescent rolls. Can make filling ahead of time. These are great for dinner or served as an appetizer. Whenever I take these to a party or potluck I never have any leftovers. People go crazy over these things! Serve with a salsa ranch dipping sauce.
Cook the ground beef in a skillet. Drain fat. Mix hamburger, taco seasoning, cheddar cheese, and cream cheese together.
Separate rolls into triangles. Cut eat triangle in half lengthwise. Scoop a heaping tablespoon onto each roll and roll up.
Bake for 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
Notes:
I used lean ground beef, low-fat cream cheese, and low-fat crescent rolls and I couldn't tell a difference.
Can substitute ground turkey for ground beef.
Here is our recipe for Homemade Taco Seasoning made with chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, red pepper flakes, oregano, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper: https://www.plainchicken.com/homemade-taco-seasoning/
I like to pulse the cooked ground beef in the food processor a few times to make sure it is chopped very fine.
The filling can be made ahead of time and refrigerated up to 3 days.
I like to do bite-sized crescents. I split the crescent roll in half to make two triangles. Feel free to skip that and just put double the meat on one full crescent roll.
I use a pizza cutter to cut the crescent rolls in half. It makes it much easier!
I use a small cookie scoop to scoop the filling on to the crescent rolls.
These bites taste great hot out of the oven or cooled to room temperature.
