Sloppy Joe Sliders Recipe - an easy way to serve sloppy joes to a crowd! Sloppy joe meat and cheese on Hawaiian rolls and covered in the most delicious sweet and savory glaze. You'll never want to eat sloppy joes any other way! Ground beef, sloppy joe seasoning, tomato sauce, BBQ sauce, Hawaiian rolls, butter, brown sugar, dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and sesame seeds. Great for parties or an easy weeknight dinner. This recipe is always a hit!
In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium-high heat until no longer pink. Drain excess grease.
Add a packet of sloppy joe seasoning, tomato sauce, barbecue sauce, and water to the skillet. Bring to a boil and simmer over medium heat for 5 to 10 minutes.
Without separating the rolls, cut the entire loaf horizontally and place the bottoms in a 9x13-inch baking dish. Spread sloppy joe mixture over the bottom buns. Top meat with cheese slices. Place top buns on top of the cheese.
In a small saucepan combine butter, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire, and poppy seeds. Bring to a boil and pour over sandwiches.
Bake for 20-30 minutes, or until the tops are brown and crispy.
Notes:
Can substitute ground turkey, ground pork, or ground chicken.
I use King's Hawaiian rolls, but you can substitute slider buns if you prefer.
If the rolls start to get too brown in the oven, cover them with foil.
The rolls do get a little crispy when baking. For softer rolls, cover the baking dish with aluminum foil before baking in the oven.
Feel free to add some fresh chopped yellow onion, garlic, and bell peppers to the skillet while the meat is cooking.
For chunkier sloppy joes, you can add a can of drained diced tomatoes.
Our favorite store-bought BBQ sauces are G. Hughes, Sweet Baby Rays, Stubbs, and Williamson Brothers.
