Sweet & Spicy Candied Nuts - dangerously delicious! These cinnamon sugar nuts are on repeat at our house during the holiday season! Mixed nuts, egg whites, brown sugar, granulated sugar, kosher salt, cayenne pepper, and ground cinnamon. Great for snacking and holiday gifting!
Preheat oven to 300ºF. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
In a large bowl, beat together the egg whites and water with an electric mixer until frothy. Add nuts and stir to coat.
In a separate bowl, mix together the sugars, salt, cayenne pepper, and cinnamon. Pour over nuts and stir to coat. Spread nuts in a single layer on the prepared pan.
Bake for 30 minutes stirring occasionally. Remove from oven and cool. Break up nuts if they are stuck together.

You can use two pounds of any nuts that you like.
I use a container of unsalted mixed nuts from Target. It contains pecans, almonds, hazelnuts, and cashews.
I also throw in some peanuts and pistachios.
Walnuts are also delicious.
If you use salted nuts, reduce or omit the salt in the recipe.
Are Candied Nuts spicy? We did not think the nuts were spicy at all. If you are worried about the heat, substitute paprika for the cayenne pepper.
Are Candied nuts gluten-free? Yes!! All of the ingredients in this recipe are gluten-free.
Store nuts in an airtight container for 1 to 2 weeks.
