Hissy Fit Hash Brown Patty Breakfast Casserole Recipe – super simple to make and tastes great! Frozen hash brown patties, sausage, cheese, eggs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, and garlic powder. Can make in advance and refrigerate or freeze for later. Perfect for hectic weekday mornings, lazy weekends, and Christmas morning.
Preheat oven to 350ºF. Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
Place frozen hash brown patties in the bottom of the baking dish.
In a large skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain excess grease.
Spread cooked sausage over hash brown patties. Top with shredded cheese.
In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper.
Pour egg mixture over casserole. Cover the dish with aluminum foil.
Bake covered for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes, until the eggs are set.
Notes:
I use Jimmy Dean pork sausage. Any brand of breakfast sausage will work great.
Can substitute turkey sausage for lower calories.
There is no need to thaw or pre-cook the hash brown potatoes before adding them to the pan.
Feel free to add bell peppers, red bell pepper, mushrooms, or onions to the casserole.
I used shredded Velveeta cheese. I buy it at Walmart. You can also use a block of Velveeta and cut it into small squares.
Don’t like Velveeta? You can substitute any cheese that you prefer. Cheddar cheese, colby-jack, Monterey jack, mozzarella, or gouda all work great.
