Bisquick Sausage Muffins Recipe - start your day with a savory delight! Sausage, swiss cheese, Bisquick, egg, milk, herbs, and spices; they're perfect for breakfast or brunch. Preheat oven to 375ºF. Spray a muffin pan with nonstick cooking spray.
Brown sausage in a skillet over medium heat, stirring until it crumbles. Drain well. Combine sausage, bisquick, cheese, sage, garlic powder, and thyme in a bowl; make a wel in the center of the mixture.
Combine egg and milk; add to dry ingredients, stirring just until moistened.
Spoon batter into greased muffin pans, filling two-thirds full.
Bake for 20 to 22 minutes or until golden Serve warm.
Reheat leftover muffins in the microwave for 20-30 seconds.

I use Jimmy Dean breakfast sausage. You can use any flavor or brand of pork sausage that you enjoy.
You can substitute turkey sausage for lower calories.
For a gluten-free dish, use Gluten-free Bisquick.
You can use Heart Smart Bisquick for lower fat.
Feel free to add your favorite veggies to the muffins:

spinach
Add a dash of cayenne pepper for a kick.
You can use any cheese that you enjoy in these muffins. Cheddar cheese, mozzarella, Swiss, gouda, or pepper jack.
I bake the muffins in a regular muffin pan.
You can make mini muffins and adjust the baking time. Smaller muffins won't take as long to bake.
Can I freeze Bisquick Sausage Muffins? Yes! Cool the muffins to room temperature and place in a freezer bag. Store in the freeze for up to four months.
Thaw and reheat in the microwave.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
