Taco Quiche Recipe – quiche loaded with taco meat, salsa, and cheese. Top with your favorite taco toppings for a fun twist to taco night! Ground beef, taco seasoning, salsa, cheddar cheese, milk, eggs, sour cream, and pie crust. SO simple and full of flavor! Can assemble quiche and freeze unbaked for a quick meal later. I like to double the recipe and bake one and freeze one for later. Everyone LOVES this easy recipe!
In a skillet, cook ground beef until no longer pink. Drain fat. Add taco seasoning and salsa. Cook for an additional 2 to 3 minutes, until most of the liquid is absorbed.
Spoon ground beef mixture into bottom of pie crust. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
Whisk together eggs, milk and sour cream. Pour over taco mixture in pie crust.
Bake 1 hour. Allow quiche to rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
Notes:
Can substitute ground turkey.
Here is our recipe for Homemade Taco Seasoning made with chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, red pepper flakes, oregano, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper: https://www.plainchicken.com/homemade-taco-seasoning/
I did not thaw the pie crust before baking.
You can use a refrigerated or homemade pie crust if you prefer.
Use a 9-in deep dish pie plate.
Feel free to add onions, green pepper, black beans, or corn to the quiche.
Cover edges of the pie crust with foil if they start to get too brown.
Can Quiche be made in advance? Yes! You can assemble the quiche ahead of time and refrigerate it overnight.
Can Homemade Quiche be frozen? Yes! You can make this quiche ahead of time and freeze it baked or unbaked for later.
I prefer to freeze the quiche unbaked. Assemble the quiche and place in the freezer. Once the quiche is frozen place it in a freezer bag. When ready to bake, thaw the quiche in the refrigerator before baking as directed below.
To freeze the baked quiche, cool the quiche completely and wrap the pie plate with plastic wrap and aluminum foil. When ready to reheat, thaw and reheat in the oven or microwave before serving.
Can I make a crustless quiche? Yes! For a low-carb and keto friendly meal, omit the pie crust and bake in a deep-dish pie pan or baking dish.
How long will Homemade Quiche last? The quiche will keep 3 to 4 days covered in the refrigerator.
Store leftovers in airtight plastic containers or Ziplocs in the refrigerator.
