Creamsicle Cookies

Orange and vanilla are one of my favorite flavor combinations. I used to eat orange sherbet and vanilla ice cream all the time. These cookies had the same flavors. YUM! These cookies are SO good. I ate way too many of them. I don’t usually eat sweets, but these cookies were way too good to pass up.
These cookies are really easy to make. They start with a bag of sugar cookie mix. Cookie mix is not something that I usually use in the kitchen, but it was a great shortcut for this recipe. They take about 45 minutes from start to finish.

Creamsicle Cookies
approximate 24 cookies
(Printable Recipe)

  • 1 pouch (1 lb 1.5 oz) Betty Crocker® sugar cookie mix
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 1 ½ tsp orange extract
  • 6-8 drops orange food color
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips

Heat oven to 375°F.

In large bowl, stir cookie mix, butter, extract, food color and egg until soft dough forms. Stir in white chocolate chips.

Using medium cookie scoop, drop dough 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Cool 3 minutes; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Serve warm or cool completely. Store tightly covered at room temperature.
