A few months ago I made a Chocolate Cherry Cake that used chocolate cake mix and cherry pie filling. It was so good and so easy to make! I started thinking about other flavor combinations and decided to try yellow cake and apple pie filling. The result? Awesome! I topped the cake with a quick cinnamon glaze. We couldn't get enough of this cake. It was especially good heated with a dollop of vanilla ice cream.
Apple Pie Cake
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1 (21oz) can apple pie filling
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/3 cup milk
Preheat oven to 350. Grease a 9×13 inch pan. Set aside.
In a large bowl, combine cake mix, apple pie filling, vanilla extract, cinnamon, eggs and milk. Mix with an electric mixer just until combined.
Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Whisk together powdered sugar, cinnamon and milk. Pour over warm cake. Allow cake to cool completely before serving.
