Meow Monday

Meow Monday - pictures of cute cats to start the week. Come see what Felix, Mack, and Mango have been up to! #cats #kittens
collage of three cat photos

First of all, I want to thank you for all the comments and emails about Jack's passing. It was a shocking loss and we are still adjusting to life without him. Jack had been responding great to his kidney treatment. He was eating and playing like his old self.⁣ On Tuesday (8/8) he stopped eating. We took him to the vet on Wednesday to see if there was anything we could do. We tried some new medicine, but by Thursday afternoon it was clear that it was time to let him go😿It was so hard to say goodbye, but it was the right decision. ⁣Jack was a few weeks shy of his 16th birthday.

Now let's get back to some happier things! Meow Monday! I'm here to brighten your day with some photos of cute cats! I know it helps me! I hope it helps you get the week started on the right foot.

The cats had an exciting week. Felix is doing great. He is more and more comfortable. Mack had an emergency room visit last Sunday - OMG! He is fine now. We are taking both kittens to the vet today to get their spay and neuter surgery. They will stay overnight. We are going to get the carpet and sofa cleaned while they are gone. It will be SO much easier without them here.

This is the look Felix gives us every single time we tell him he has to come in from outside. LOL!

Felix is doing amazing. I started giving him one capsule of Zylkene every morning. Felix has been pulling out his fur, so I thought this might help him. We gave it to Nacho Man and it helped him relax. I think it is working for Felix. He let me pet him! OMG! Progress!

My wild child is doing good. She is starting to relax a tiny bit. She slept in my lap the other day. It was nice. Hopefully, she will turn into a lap cat when she is older.

Mango is getting her spay surgery today. She has to stay overnight at the vet's office. We are going to let Mack stay the night with her so she doesn't miss him. The vet is going to put them in the same cage after they wake up from surgery. They have never spent a night apart.

Little Mack had to go to the emergency room last Sunday morning to get stitches. Somehow he & Mango broke a little glass top table in our den in the middle of the night. He sliced his nose on the broken glass😿He also hurt his left leg. He cried when I touched his leg and that wasn't normal.

Mack was a really good patient. The emergency vet took x-rays and didn't see any broken bones. They gave him some pain medicine and an antibiotic. After we got home, he slept most of the day and was back to his usual self by the end of the day. Running around and roughhousing with Mango.

The emergency vet gave him a cone to wear. He wasn't messing with the stitches so I didn't make him wear it. Hopefully, it healed properly!

As you can see, he hasn't let the stitches slow him down! Our regular vet will take the stitches out today when he gets neutered.

  3. So sorry for the loss of Jack. I lost my Sylvester on 07/08 and it is by far,the worst thing I've ever experienced. He would have been 16 on 07/25. There are days when I sit and cry thinking about how much I miss him. I still have his brother, Tom who was also 16 on 07/25. Tom is still looking for Sylvester, they were best buds.

  4. Sounds like a healthy bunch and fun. My kids put their 15 yr dog down a few days ago. We are grieving as you are for Jack. It's so hard to lose a family member. Much brighter days ahead.

  5. Sorry for your loss of your beloved Jack. I hope the rest of your clan will help ease the pain. They are beautiful kitties, especially Mango.
