Easy No-Bake Candy

I had this candy a few years ago at a Christmas party and went home and immediately tried to replicate it. This candy is a real crowd-pleaser. It is creamy and crunchy without being overly rich. I could eat a ton of these little things. This is very easy to put together and it makes a ton. Make a batch and share it with your friends!

How to Make White Chocolate Peanut Butter Krispies

These candies are super easy to make. You actually make them in the microwave! Woohoo! NO candy thermometer required.

Place cereal, peanuts, and marshmallows in a large bowl. In a microwave-safe bowl combine white chocolate chips and peanut butter. Microwave until the chips and peanut butter has melted. Pour the mixture over the cereal. Stir to combine. Drop the candy on some wax paper or parchment paper and let the candy cool and set up.

  • Store cooled candy in an air-tight container.
  • The candy will keep 1 to 2 weeks.
  • Can use white chocolate chips or white chocolate bars.
  • I used smooth peanut butter, but crunchy peanut butter will work fine.
  • I used Planter’s dry roasted peanuts. Feel free to substitute cocktail peanuts.
  • You can make the candy drops as large or as small as you wish.
  • For a gluten-free dessert, make sure to use a gluten-free brand of rice krispies.

No-Cook Dessert for Christmas

These little candies are AH-MAZ-ING! They are great for parties and gift giving. I always make a batch at the holidays and give them as gifts. They only take a few minutes to make and everyone LOVES them!

I came up with this recipe way back in 2009. I’ve noticed in recent years someone on the internet made these and renamed them No-Bake Avalanche Cookies. Whatever you call them, just make them! You won’t be disappointed!

Comments

  1. I have always used the vanilla almond bark in these. Definitely in the top ten favorite cookie! However in my house we call them “Cat Yack Cookies.” 🙂

  2. Has anyone tried it with dark chocolate or milk chocolate. I thinkin about a arrangement of all 3 chocolates for gifts?

  3. Cannot figure out what went wrong…my white chocolate/peanut butter never really melted. I ended up mixing it all together and pressing it into a 9×13 pan to cut into squares. Hopefully, they will still taste good!

  4. This stuff is insanely good. I read thru the comments and the Captain Crunch caught my eye. Made it last night. Thank you for the recipe Stephanie!

  5. I just finished making em for a party tomorrow and maybe some for Christmas Eve, if there are any left. I'm hoping they go well with the Triple Chocolate Peanut Cashew clusters. 🙂

    1. Hi! When you leave these to harden for two hours, do you leave them out on the counter or do you put them in the fridge?

  6. Can you give me an idea of about how many this recipe makes? As above, want to make them for cookie exchange and will need 5 dozen. Double the recipe?

    1. It will totally depend on how you scoop the mixture – it makes about 9 cups of candy. I like to drop it in smaller spoonfuls so they are bite sized. I think you could get 60 small krispies out of this. If you want bigger krispies, you might need to double it.

  7. Do you think you could use Rice Chex for these too, since they are gluten free? And possibly using Sunbutter to make them peanut free as well. So many different ways to make these, I'll just have to give them all a try!!

  8. For extra crunch, add 2 cups of thin pretzel sticks snapped in half. It not only adds crunch, but the salt on the pretzels nicely counteracts the sweetness. I also leave out the marshmallows as it doesn't affect the taste and it cuts down considerably on the sugar

  9. How long will these last? Do they need refrigerated? I want to make this for a cookie exchange on the 20th, Will they still be good on Christmas? Thanks!

    1. I don't refeigerate them. They will be fine by Christmas if you have the cookie party on the 20th. They keep at least a week or so. Never had any make it past a week – we eat them too fast.

    1. It just depends on how big you make the bites. I think you would need to double this recipe to accommodate that many people.

  10. I can't wait to try these with gluten free rice krispies. I think I'm going to leave out the marshmallows. My mom used to make something like this but with white chocolate, peanut butter captain crunch, and peanuts. They are amazingly delicious!

  11. Is there a way to make them without the peanuts and peanut butter- we have allergies and don't use either in recipes!

  12. These do look fabulous but I just wanted to put it out there that if you are looking for a gluten free version don't use regular Rice Krispies as they have barley malt.
    Thanks for the recipe!

  13. These are pretty amazing, delish but rich. Fortunately for me I could only eat one! Mine are keeping nicely in a sealed container, on an unheated Central NY porch. My husband hates marshmallows and didn't even notice they were in there. My blobs yielded about 72 cookies, using not an overflowing silverware tablespoon. :0)

  14. I just wanted to say that this would totally be gluten free if you stuck with the krispies! So hard to find something yummy and gluten free cookie wise. No substitutes needed. Sensitivities vary, but as long as none of the ingredients are processed along side grains, this should be safe for GFers.

  15. Does anyone know about how many tablespoon sized clusters this recipe makes? I can't decide if I want to double the recipe or not.

  16. Does anyone know about how many tablespoon sized clusters this recipe makes? I can't decide if I want to double the recipe or not.

  17. Nancy – I'm not a marshmallow fan either, but they taste good in this recipe. If you want to leave them out, you can just increase the other ingredients a little bit.

  18. Hi there. Can you suggest something to use instead of marshmellows? My daughter doesn't like them. Iwould love tomake this for Thanksgiving.

  19. I do the captain crunch ones too but with regular captain crunch.
1/2 pkg white almond bark, 1/4 cup peanut butter, 1 cup salted peanuts, 2-3 cups captain crunch, 1 cup marshmallows.
I can't wait to try the Rice Krispie one though!

  20. We made these at Christms and they were an absolute hit. My husband called them "cat puke" cookies because of what they look like… hehehe (we have cats) but no lie, these are the best cookies ever. I'm making them again for Easter 🙂 They are AWESOME!!!

  21. Made these many times growing up for the holidays using regular captain crunch and rice krispie combo. The colored marshmallows are good in them too! I just started making them again the last couple years and will never stop! They are too good and I always get loads of compliments!

  22. Oh my! just made these and they are awesome!!! Thank you for your website! Just came across it and can't believe I've missed out on so many great recipes!! Keep up the great work! 🙂

  23. I made these for my Christmas work treats. They just melt in your mouth and are so creamy. I like the salty/sweet combination. This recipe will definitely be a keeper for me. Thank you for sharing this recipe and all of your others.

  24. Thanks so much for this recipe! It's a nice change from the regular Christmas faire! I took a little liberties! 😉 I melted 3 bags of white chocolate, 1 cup of peanut butter…. used the same amounts of rice krispies and marshmallows. Didn't have roasted peanuts so I added walnuts and milk chocolate chips! I put them in mini muffin liners and they look so cute in the tins for Christmas! Thanks again for a great recipe!

  25. Shelly – OMG Captain Crunch in this would be AMAZING. I am going to buy a box at the grocery store today. I am going to make some ASAP!

I think one package of almond bark would be enough. It does melt alot better than white chocolate. I use almond bark on popcorn mixes and one package covers two bags of microwave popcorn and add-ins.

You are killing me with the chocolate version too!

  26. Stephanie, I make something very similar to this but it has the Captain Crunch PB ceral in it and doesn't call for peanut butter and I can only imagine that would make it even better! My question, for my recipe I used the white almond bark, it just always melts better and smoother than the chips for me. Do you know what the equivlent would be? My recipe calls for a pound or one package, would it be the same? Thanks! I might also try this with regular milk chocolate almond bark as I already have some of that at home begging to be used and you can never go wrong with chocolate and PB!

  27. LaJoyce – I am so glad you enjoyed the treats! These peanut butter krispies are one of my favorite holiday treats!

  28. Your father brought some of your treats to my job last week (Thanks Steve! The girls at the Shoe Station loved everything!) These little gems were gone before we all left at 5:00 that afternoon. I'm so glad that you posted the receipe. Now we can make these for our Christmas party, unless of course, your dad would like to send us some!

    LaJoyce

    1. Since this is 2020, I need to know it i can freeze these please. My work got shut down again and 8 dozen of these takes up a lot of real estate in my fridge

  29. Well don't these look fabulous. I've never seen anything quite like them. Will save this recipe and give them a try. Thanks Stephanie
