I rarely comment on recipes but after making this I had to let everyone know how DELICIOUS this recipe is. I loved it so much I shared it with my daughter and she and her family loved it also. It was so easy to make and it tastes so great!
YAY! SO glad to hear that it was a hit with the whole family!
Awesome recipe!!!!! My eldest, 40 yr son, says he could live off just these green beans for the rest of his life !!!! When visiting, I double the recipe in a pyrex deep dish 9 x 13 so there are leftovers at least for couple of days ! Thanks so much !
Made these for Thanksgiving and they were delicious! Made them in the slow cooker on low and just let them go until we were ready.
If I use fresh green beans how many cups should I use?
I love this and my friends and family couldn’t get enough. I would encourage everyone to use no salt added green beans. That was the only issue we had. It’s a favorite all year long.
Can this be made in an instant pot? If so, how long?
I’ve never made this in the instant pot, so I can not say what the cooking time would be.
Love these beans!! Can you make it a meal and add chicken? If so suggestions on how to cook?
Thank you!
We love this recipe as written! That said, I’m feeding a couple of missionaries that have a dairy allergy so no butter. Yikes! Butter makes everything better but need suggestions for a substitute.
I can’t give recommendations for food allergies. You may ask them or have them ask their doctor.
Just throw in some bacon grease!! Probably will be better than the butter.
I halved the recipe and used frozen green beans. I only cooked the beans for four minutes so they were still a bit firm. I also used low sodium soy sauce. This is my new favorite green bean casserole. It was absolutely delicious.
Try coconut butter,I use it as a substitute
