These Pulled Pork Pastry Puffs are a favorite in our house. They are great for lunch, dinner or parties. You can make them ahead of time and freeze unbaked until ready to serve. I am making a batch this weekend to put up for the Super Bowl next weekend. LOVE easy make ahead recipes like this one!!

I used a package of Costco Smoked Pulled Pork in this recipe. It is my favorite store-bought pulled pork. You can find it in the back of Costco with the other pre-cooked meats and soups. It comes in two one-pound packages. I always have a pack in the freezer for a quick meal.

With only 4 simple ingredients, you can’t go wrong with these pastry puffs. They are always a hit! Serve some extra BBQ sauce on the side or even some Ranch dressing would be good. I mean, what isn’t good with Ranch?!?!?

Notes:

Can assemble pastry puffs through Step 4 and freeze unbaked for later.
To bake after freezing, thaw slightly, brush with egg wash and bake as directed above.
If having trouble keeping the ends together – you can use a toothpick to keep them together when baking.
Can use pulled pork with sauce and omit the BBQ sauce in the recipe.
4 bottles of store-bought BBQ sauce
My favorite BBQ sauces are G. Hughes, Sweet Baby Rays, Stubbs, and Williamson Brothers.

  1. I have made these several times and we love them!! I get the pork carnitas meat from Costco already cooked, then add the bbq sauce. Thank you!

  2. I made them bigger, as I wanted them for dinner, not a snack. Cut pastry sheet into 4. Put slice of Swiss on half. Put about 1.5 oz pulled pork on top, and topped that with a squirt of bbq sauce. Sealed with water and a fork.
Cooked in air fryer instead of oven.
2 is a good sized portion.

  3. These are delicious!! For an even better tip I made my pulled pork fresh in my crock pot. This recipe is amazing. I will definitely be making it for everyone to try!!

  4. These were outstanding and so simple to make! I might try them with pulled bbq chicken next time. Thank you for such a great recipe.

  5. I have made these a few times and love them. I am making these tomorrow, but I wonder if you can use anything besides puff pastry. Thanks

  6. How do you get 9 equal squares out of a sheet of puff pastry?? I can see getting 8 equal squares-1 cut horizontally and 3 cuts vertically- but not 9???

    1. 2 cuts vertically and 2 cuts horizontally – I cut along the seams and then crosswise – you can see how on the video in the post.

  7. I had a terrible time trying to keep these boogers wrapped once in the oven. Any suggestions on how to keep the pastry rolls closed?

    1. You can use toothpicks to hold them together. You can also dab a bit of water on the points so they stick together better.

  8. Thank you for this recipe. I made them for a hearty Appetizer meal with friends. They were a huge hit! I left the cheese out and put caramelized onions on top of pork instead. It was a great substitution.
