We make these Southwestern Black Beans every time we eat Mexican food at home. They are SO easy and SOOOOO delicious! There are only 4 ingredients and they only take about 5 minutes to make. Just heat them through and then serve. We eat these beans with all of our Mexican casseroles and with taco night. They are our go-to side. I’ve been making these for years!
As I said, there are only 4 ingredients in these beans – black beans, lime juice, Rotel diced tomatoes and green chiles, and chili powder. If you are sensitive to heat make sure to buy MILD diced tomatoes and green chiles.

Southwestern Black Beans
Ingredients:
- 1 (15-oz) can black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 (10-oz) can diced tomatoes and green chilies, undrained
- ½ tsp chili powder
- 2 Tbsp lime juice
Instructions:
- In a small sauce pan, combine all ingredients. Simmer for 5 to 10 minutes, until warm.
