The cookies tasted as good as they looked. They were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The addition of the caramel and pecans took a great chocolate chip cookie to a whole new level. Make them next time you need to feed for your resident cookie monster!
Chocolate Chip Turtle Cookies
(Printable Recipe)
1 cup butter, softened
¾ cup sugar
¾ cup brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla
2 ¼ cups unsifted flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
2 cups (12oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips
12 caramels, each cut into 8 pieces
1 cup pecans, chopped
Heat oven to 375ĀŗF.
Stir flour with baking soda and salt; set aside. In large mixing bowl, beat butter with sugar and brown sugar at medium speed until creamy and lightened in color. Add vanilla and eggs, one at a time. Mix on low speed until incorporated. Gradually blend dry mixture into creamed mixture. Stir in nuts, caramel and chocolate chips. Drop by tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.
