I am big into no-boil, one-pot dinners right now. This pasta dish is absolutely delicious. Pizza and pasta? I’m in! It can be easily adapted to your family’s tastes. Just mix in your family’s favorite pizza toppings. I used sausage, turkey pepperoni and mushrooms.
I precooked my sausage and this dish came together in less than 30 minutes. I just dumped everything in the skillet, brought it to a boil and let it simmer for about 15 minutes. Easy peasy! Add a slice of garlic bread and a simple salad for a quick weeknight meal!
No-Boil Pizza Pasta Skillet
- 8 oz campanelle pasta (or mini shells)
- 1 jar (15oz) pizza sauce
- 3 cups water
- ⅛ tsp red pepper flakes
- 12 oz cooked sausage
- 2 oz (½ cup) chopped turkey pepperoni
- 1-2 oz chopped mushrooms
- 8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
In oven-safe skillet, combine pasta, sauce and water. bring to boil. Cover and reduce heat. Simmer for 15-18 minutes, until pasta is tender. Stir in red pepper flakes, sausage, pepperoni and mushrooms. Cook over low heat about 5 minutes. Top pasta with mozzarella cheese.
Heat under broiler until cheese is melted.
I can’t count the number of times I’ve made this recipe! It’s so quick and delicious. I’ve given out the recipe to several friends and relatives. My 16 yr. old grandson loves it–in fact it’s what’s for dinner tonight when they come in from hunting!
No boil one pot dinners? Where in the world do I sign! This looks out of this world delicious!!! Thanks for the great recipe Stephanie!
