How to Make Spiced Tea Mix

This mix is SUPER easy to make. Simply whisk together lemonade mix, instant tea, Tang, sugar, and pumpkin spice. Store in an air-tight container and enjoy during the holiday season.

  • I used Country Time Lemonade mix.
  • For the instant tea, I used Lipton unsweetened instant tea.
  • I found the Tang orange drink mix at Walmart.
  • If you want a finer mix, pulse the mixture in the food processor.
  • Don’t have pumpkin pie spice on hand? No problem! You can make it with only four spices.
    • Homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice
      • 4 tsp cinnamon
      • 2 tsp ground ginger
      • 1 tsp ground cloves

  1. Mom made something like this when we were kids… in the 60’s. For whatever reason, it was called “Russian Tea…” We used Tang Orange Juice, Wyler’s Lemonade (which I can’t find) Instant Tea, Cloves, Sugar and Cinnamon… now, I omit the sugar and use Country time Lemonade that is already sweetened… It’s a great mix to gift someone at this time of year in a cute mug with a bow…

  2. I love this. It sounds delicious!
I know your recipe is for the 6 little mason jars, but will those measurements make a pitcher to serve with dinner?

  3. I’ve had to ‘adjust’ the Russian Tea recipe over the years as I cannot find unsweet instant tea either. I use the sweetened tea, lemonade Kool aid, a bit less sugar and I’ve found that this works just fine. Perhaps the extra sweetness in the tea and the lack of sweetness in the lemonade mix offset each other!

  4. I can't seem to find instant unsweetened tea mix, Lipton or not. Would the regular ice tea mix be to sweet? I would love to make this for Christmas gifts.

  5. I make a Russian Tea in Winter that is delicious,my friend from over 35 years give it to me and I make it every winter.Give as gifts and this year my granddaughter loves it. I might have to try yours too!

  6. Hi,
I would LOVE to use the Chai Tea Mix label you used above! Do you have a link of the label used? I'd love to make some gifts this holiday season! Thanks!

  7. This has been one of my favorite fall/winter treats for many years…I almost love smelling it more than consuming it (ALMOST!) 🙂

  8. Love it!!! I just pulled out my grandmother's recipe a few days ago and the exactly it minus the pumpkin spice. I'm going to have to add that the next time I make it. Oh yum!!!!
