Cast Iron Skillet Burgers

Cast Iron Skillet Burgers - perfectly cooked burgers in only 6 minutes using your favorite cast iron skillet!

I love a good burger. We usually grill our burgers, but it has been so cold lately that I had to cook them inside. I got an awesome LeCreuset Cast Iron Skillet for Christmas. I love it. I have been looking for ways to use it and decided to cook our burgers in it. OMG! Best burger ever and they took less than 10 minutes! It was actually only 6 minutes of cooking time. You can't beat that! We may never grill burgers again!

You can form the hamburger patties ahead of time and refrigerate until ready to cook them. This recipe makes four 6-ounce burgers. We think that is the perfect size. The cooking times listed in the recipe are for 6-ounce burgers. The burgers are perfectly cooked! If you like smaller burgers, you will need to adjust the times listed below.

  1. We've been cooking our burgers in a skillet for a little while now and found out we love them so much more that way also!! Delicious!

  2. There is no seasoning added to the beef? Just plain, ole' hamburger meat cooked in a skillet? It doesn't lack flavor? Thanks for your help.

  3. We've been doing this also but add salt and pepper as our only seasonings. We also fry two very thin burgers per person and add a slice of cheese in the middle. I got the idea from Pioneer Woman's "Freddy Burgers" which I think would be like our Steak and Shake, they are yummy also! Have also been doing our steak in the cast iron skillet then the oven...much better than grilling!

  4. Definitely need some seasonings here, but otherwise this works very well.
