ReplyDeleteHI, could you tell me if the ham is cooked before you put it in the crockpot?
ReplyDeleteWe always have the peas, too.
ReplyDeleteI made your sausage cheese puffs for Christmas morning and they were sooo good. I have them in my post today with a link back to you.
yep, black eyed peas and a mess of greens.
ReplyDeletelori5, I am going to guess and say you could do it either way. I am going to substitute smoked sausage and I will fry mine a bit first just to cook out some of the grease.
ReplyDeleteWhat size crockpot should be used? I have a 3 qt and a 6 qt.
ReplyDeleteStephanie - I used a 6 quart crock-pot.
ReplyDeleteLori - I didn't cook the ham before putting it in the crock-pot.
ReplyDeleteMine are cooking right now, my 8 year old daughter thinks they stink...haha!
ReplyDeleteYour's look better than mine!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Stephanie! Thank you for another year of great recipes !!
ReplyDeleteCan you freeze these after they cook?
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely
DeleteDo the beans have to soak?
ReplyDeleteI have been interested in adding rotel tomatoes to black eyed peas. I would probably swap that for the broth and eliminate the cajun seasoning.
