If you are a regular reader of Plain Chicken, you already know we are huge fans of “bubble up” recipes. We have tons of savory versions and we just made a sweet Apple Pie Bubble Up. It was such a huge hit, that I started thinking up other sweet versions.
Thanksgiving is a few weeks away, and I was thinking about our menu. I came up with an idea for a Pecan Pie Bubble Up. I used my favorite pecan pie recipe and tossed it with biscuits. It turned out amazing!
How to Make Pecan Pie Bubble Up
This dessert is SUPER easy to make. Whisk together corn syrup, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Stir in chopped pecans. Cut refrigerated biscuits into quarters and toss in pecan mixture. Pour mixture into a baking dish and bake.
- This recipe uses the can of smaller refrigerated biscuits. You are looking for either two cans of 6-ounce biscuits or one can of 12-ounce biscuits. You are going to have a total of 10 biscuits.
- They sell the smaller size of Pillsbury refrigerated biscuits at Walmart.
- You can make this dessert a day in advance and store it in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
- I prefer to serve this dessert warm. You can reheat the bubble up in the microwave or covered in the oven.
- I used light corn syrup, feel free to use dark corn syrup if you prefer.
How to Serve Pecan Pie
Serve this slightly warm with a big ol’ scoop of ice cream. YUM! It is ooey, gooey, and sticky deliciousness. We will definitely be having this on Thanksgiving this year! Give this a try if you are looking for a delicious twist on pecan pie.

YAY!!! I'm thrilled to hear you enjoyed it, Patty!
Does the biscuits come to the top like the picture???? or do you place them like that?
I tossed the pecan pie filling with the biscuits and poured it into the pan as directed above. This is what it looked like after baking.
Just wanted to check in and let you know I made this for Thanksgiving- it was FABULOUS! This will definitely be made again! Thanks for another good one, Stephanie!
Do you thinks substituting Grands Flaky Buttermilk will be as good? That's what I have at home in the fridge…
Use all but one biscuit & cut them into 6 pieces. Keep everything else the same.
Looks YUMMO!!!
OMG! Can you imagine a sweet potato casserole type bubble up? Fabulous.
Putting it on my list for Thanksgiving, too!
I must make this over the weekend! You know, in the interest of science and all… 😉
