The college football national championship game is next week. My team isn’t in the big game, but we will still be watching. I mean, it’s football and an excuse to eat more delicious football food! We will be snacking on this yummy Creamy Crack Dip during the game. It is SUPER easy to make and it tastes great too!
You might be asking What is Crack Dip? Crack Dip is a combination of cheddar, bacon, and ranch. I made the original dip WAY back in 2007 for a Titans football game. We pulled it out at the tailgate and everybody went nuts over it. We couldn’t stop eating it and jokingly said this stuff is like crack. The name stuck. So if something has crack in the name, it has cheddar, bacon, and ranch in it.
How to Make Creamy Crack Dip
This dip only has a few simple ingredients – bacon, cream cheese, ranch dressing mix, cheddar cheese and a splash of milk. It comes together in minutes on the stove. You can keep it on low on the stove during the game or transfer it to the slow cooker to keep it warm.
- To cut down on the prep time for this dip, I use precooked bacon. I buy the big bag of precooked bacon pieces at Costco. It is usually near all the salad dressing. Such a HUGE time and money saver. Bacon is crazy expensive at the grocery store.
- Can substitute turkey bacon for regular pork bacon.
- I used Hidden Valley Original Ranch Seasoning and Salad Dressing Mix.
- If you are sensitive to the ranch dressing mix, adjust the amount to your personal preference.
- You can make the dip on the stovetop, microwave, or slow cooker.
- If the dip gets too thick, add more milk to thin it out.
- This dip gluten-free, low-carb, and keto-friendly.
What to Serve with Cheddar, Bacon, Ranch Dip
We served this Creamy Crack Dip with tortilla chips. It is also delicious with Fritos. You could even serve it with some celery and carrot sticks to keep it gluten-free, low-carb, and keto-friendly. Whatever you serve it with, it is guaranteed to be a TOUCHDOWN!
