This is DELICIOUS! I used a spice cake mix ( it had to go soon) and it was soooooo good! I’m making another one today with the yellow cake mix. So simple to make, but it tastes like you spent all day on it.
What kind of apple’s did you use?
I used granny smith.
I used a spice cake mix. The house smelled AMAZING while it was baking – making it hard to wait to eat these bars! I used Kraft caramels, quartered, and don’t think they melted enough. I would definitely use the Kraft caramel bits next time.
Looks delicious! Is there a type of apple that you think might taste best in this recipe?
Do you peel the apples ?
Peeled or unpeeled works fine. It would be a personal preference
Instead of fresh apples, could you use a can of apple pie filling?
You can make this any way you would like. I can not say how it will turn out if you do not make it as written.
