Easy Homemade Cheese Crackers

These Cheddar Bacon Crackers are crazy addictive! I took these to a party and they were gone in a flash. I mean, how could they not be good? Cheese and Bacon. Hello? YUM! I’ve made a version of this recipe in the past with Rice Krispies in the dough. I really think the bacon puts the cheese crackers over the top!

How to Make Cheddar Bacon Crackers

These crackers are super easy to make. In the bowl of a food processor pulse together flour, baking powder, cayenne, and butter until a crumbly dough forms. Add cheese, bacon, and milk. Pulse just until dough forms. Scoop dough onto parchment-lined baking sheets. Flatten in a criss-cross pattern with a floured fork and bake.

  • I made the cracker dough in my food processor. The dough came together in a minute.
  • If you don’t have a food processor, you can mix the dough by hand or use a stand mixer.
  • The crackers have a little bit of cayenne pepper for a kick. I didn’t think they were spicy at all. Feel free to reduce the cayenne or omit it if you are worried about the heat.
  • One cup of chopped cooked bacon is approximately one pound of fresh bacon.
  • The crackers will keep about a week in an air-tight container.
  • Can I freeze Cheddar Bacon Crackers? Yes! Place the crackers in a freezer bag and freeze. Thaw when ready to serve.

  1. I was wondering if you ever used the bag type bacon pieces when making these crackers? Are should I only use fresh cooked bacon? Thanks for your help and the recipe!

    1. You can use precooked bacon pieces/bits. I wouldn’t use the fake bacon bits, but real precooked bacon bits is just fine. I use the bags from Costco and Sam’s all the time.

  2. How much rice krispies would you add? That is what my mom used to do and now I don’t know what do without adding that element LOL.

  3. Ladies and Gentlemen…..WE HAVE A WINNER!!!!
What a great treat with an adult beverage and a football game.
    Thank you!!!

  4. Are these made with salted or unsalted butter? I was going to bake them with salted butter, but just want to make sure.

    Thanks!
