How to Make The BEST Chocolate Chip Cookies

These cookies are very easy to make with only a few simple ingredients. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt butter. Pour butter into the bowl of an electric mixer. Add brown sugar and granulated sugar to the bowl and mix for 4 minutes. Add eggs and mix well. Mix together baking soda and warm water and stir to dissolve. Add baking soda mixture and vanilla extract to the dough. Mix well. 

In a large bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, cake flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Slowly add the flour mixture to the batter. Add chocolate chips and chopped pecans to the dough and stir with a wooden spoon or rubber spatula. 

Using a medium cookie scoop, scoop the dough and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Cover the baking pan with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 3 hours up to overnight.

Remove the dough from the fridge and place cookie dough balls on parchment-lined baking sheets 2 inches apart. Bake in a preheated oven until they are golden brown. Cool on the baking pan for 1 minute. Transfer cookies to a cooling rack and cool completely.

How to Measure Flour

One cup of flour weighs 4.25 ounces. To properly measure flour, give the flour a stir to loosen it up in the container. Use a spoon and lightly spoon the flour into your measuring cup. Use a flat straight edge (like the straight back of a knife) to level off the top of the flour in the measuring cup. Do NOT compact the flour in the measuring cup.
