This is our new FAVORITE grilled chicken recipe. The flavor in this chicken is amazing!! This is so good that we are making it again later this week. The rosemary and ranch blend together beautifully. I would serve this chicken at a dinner party. It is so simple but SO good.

This chicken had the best flavor of any chicken that we have grilled – we have grilled tons of chicken. I only made half the marinade since I was only grilling two breasts. I ate the whole chicken breast and I never do that! I wished that I had another piece – at least leftovers for lunch. Next time! We are making it again this weekend.  You can’t go wrong with this dish. Make it ASAP. You won’t regret it.

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  • In a medium bowl, stir together the olive oil, ranch dressing, Worcestershire sauce, rosemary, salt, lemon juice, white vinegar, pepper, and sugar. Let stand for 5 minutes.
  • Pound chicken breast to 1/4" thickness. Place chicken in the gallon size ziplock bag, and stir to coat with the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for a few hours to overnight.
  • Preheat the grill for medium-high heat. Grill chicken for 8 to 12 minutes, or until the chicken is no longer pink in the center, and the juices run clear.

Notes:

Omit sugar for a low-carb/keto-friendly recipe.
To cook chicken without a grill, pan sear the chicken on both sides for 3 to 4 minutes. Transfer the chicken to a baking sheet and cook at 400ºF for 10 minutes.
Cook the chicken until it reaches an internal temperature of 165ºF.

  1. First of all, this is one of my favorite recipes! I’ve made it on several occasions, and always serve it immediately. What would you recommend as the best way to re-heat this is I make it the day before a potluck dinner at work? I don’t want it to dry out.

  2. Another winner Stephanie! The marinade for this chicken is incredible, not to mention so simple. We loved the flavors of this chicken. I highly recommend trying this. I used light ranch dressing with excellent results. Serve it with your favorite veggie and a crisp green salad for a complete meal.

  3. I’m making this recipe for a Friends Family. They need low sodium. Can I leave out the Worcestershire sauce along with the sugar?

    1. you can make this any way you would like. This is just a seasoning/marinade. Changing ingredients only changes the flavor.

  4. I planned to grill the chicken but ended up starting it on the stove and finishing it in the oven. It. Was. So. Tasty! I served it with a caprese salad and a lovely glass of white wine. Absolutely delicious and so refreshing on a hot summer night.

  5. My garden has a TON of rosemary ready to harvest, so I may try this recipe with fresh rosemary. Have you tried it with fresh? Or just dried?

  6. I've been using the recipe for 3 years now, since I was 23 and just really starting to cook. Instead of ranch dressing, I do a whole cup of oil and mix in the ranch powder packet, with everything else as stated. The flavor is phenomenal, and I just figured I'd finally comment and thank you for the recipe. It's a staple at my house.

    1. We make this all the time too. I will give your version a try next time. Thank you for commenting!!! SO glad you love the recipe!! 🙂

  7. Made this last night and it was by far the best marinated chicken I have ever had. I used the dry ranch seasoning mix instead of the bottled ranch and loved it. Mine marinated overnight as well.

  8. Hi! This chicken looks delicious! What is your preferred Ranch dressing? We don't really use the bottled so much. My kids are super picky and like me to make the Hidden Valley buttermilk ranch from the packets, but I'm not sure how it would work with this recipe. I don't want to mess it up! Thanks!

  9. Love this, but this is what I did (due to weather). I doubled the marinade and used half for marinating them. Put the chicken in a greased baking dish, added two cans of mushrooms, poured the reserved marinade over them and baked it. There was lots of gravy. I served it over the Cheddar Ranch Grits only I used half grated Asiago cheese with the cheddar. MMmmmm. Plus is looked great too.

  10. It never occurred to me to make this with whole chicken breasts. LOL I came across a recipe for this as chicken kabobs a long time ago and that's how I've always made it…and it's quite a process! This will be so much easier.

  11. YUM!! I just came across your blog and have printed a bunch of these recipes. They are easy and quick which is exactly what I need. I made the Rosemary Ranch chicken tonight and my husband (and very picky kids) raved about it! It was really delicious with tons of flavor. I only used 1/4 c. of ranch and used chicken tenders and baked them since our grill is put away for the winter. Thanks for this site. I already shared it with a bunch of friends.

  12. Made this for a dinner party tonight. It was amazing! Marinated the chicken overnight. Turned out perfect. Thanks!

  13. It's finally warm enough to grill in Denver. Made this tonight and it was delicious! Followed the recipe exactly. We loved it and will make it again and again.

  14. This recipe was soooooo good! I served it with 5 minute individual potato gratins (food network) it was a fabulous meal! Thanks for sharing the recipe.
PS–I came across your blog via al.com. I can't wait to try more of your recipes.
