Pin This RecipeThis bread smells amazing while it is baking in the oven! The cinnamon aroma fills the house making you wish the bread would just hurry up and be ready!! It is like a really big blueberry muffin. It was simple to make and tasted fantastic. We had it for breakfast over the weekend. I made the bread the night before because I’m not a early morning person – especially on the weekend. It is great heated up with butter slathered all over it.
This blueberry bread is very easy to make. Mix together brown sugar, oil, and eggs. Add flour, oats, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Stir in blueberries and pour batter into a loaf pan. Sprinkle the top with some turbinado sugar and bake.
I used Sugar in the Raw for the turbinado sugar. If you don’t have turbinado sugar, feel free to leave it out or substitute brown sugar.

I have a huge bag of frozen wild blueberries, what would I need to change if I use the frozen berries instead of fresh?
I would just thaw them first so you don’t have any excess liquid.
Can you use self rising flour in this ? Minus the salt and baking powder?
I'm going to make it with raspberries, would you suggest keeping the cinnamon or putting in a different spice?
I don't have rolled oats. Can I substitute quick oats or steel cut oats? Thx!
Quick oats should work fine
Yummy!!
Yummy!!
I will add pecans next time as well.
Just made this and it took 15 minutes longer for the knife to come out clean. I am in metro Atlanta at the moment. I added zest of one lemon. It is moist and tastes good, but not sweet. If prefer sweeter add white sugar or honey. Great w/ coffee and flavored coffee creamer (for the added sweet.)
I made this bread today it was moist and yummy, my kids liked it even though it wasn't super sweet! If you like a sugary snack bread this isn't it but if you are like me and always cutting back the sugar in your kids goodies this is perfect! I would probably add some lemon zest or vanilla and more cinnamon next time. But overall it it was delish! Thanks! I will definitely make this again!
Just made this bread and it looks absolutely wonderful but taste very bland. It is just not sweet at all. Has anyone else had this issue? Any idea on how to increase the "sweet" taste?
Add sugar.
I made this bread and it was very tasty but very crumbly. Is there something I did wrong, or something else I could try different???
This looks DELISIOUS! I'm going to have to give it a try … my three boys (7, 5 and 2) love blueberries, so this would be a hit at my house!
That is beautiful bread Steph! It look so perfect – wish I had a slice.
Ummm. I could go for it for breakfast or a snack.
I saw I still had blueberries on my bushes to so I don't have an excuse not to try it.
The bread looks very moist and would be really wonderful to go with some freshly brewed tea!
