The weather starts to cool off and we can finally sit outside and enjoy ourselves. It is WAY too hot during the summer months to sit outside! At least it is too hot in Alabama to sit outside during the summer.
This recipe couldn’t be any easier. It only has three ingredients! BBQ sauce, Italian dressing, and chicken. I’ve made this recipe several times, with several different brands of BBQ sauce. I found that this recipe works best with Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce. It has the perfect consistency and a nice sweet flavor. I used Original Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce, but they have tons of great flavors to choose from. They have a new Cola BBQ sauce and Hawaiian BBQ sauce that I want to try in this recipe. That would really change the flavor without complicating the recipe! I love that!
3-Ingredient Italian BBQ Chicken
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ Sauce
- 1 cup Italian dressing
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
Instructions:
- Combine Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ Sauce and Italian dressing. Pour over chicken and let marinate in refrigerator 4 hours to overnight.
- Grill chicken approximately 15 minutes, or until done.

This recipe is amazing and tastes so similar to Hawaiian chicken. I’ve been trying to figure out how to tweak it to turn make it tastes more so. Any ideas? 😁

You can use the marinade on any cut of chicken that you prefer. Use a meat thermometer to check for an internal temperature of 165ºF.

I have a large package of skin on bone in thighs. Has anyone baked this recipe with thighs? Do you cover? For how long?
Marinate the chicken and then remove the chicken from the marinade before cooking. Preheat oven to 425°F.Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil and place a baking rack on top. Place on the rack and bake 35-40 minutes or until chicken reaches 165°F.
Broil 2-3 minutes to crisp skin if needed.
