How to Make Pecan Brownies
This dessert is super easy to make with only a few simple ingredients. In a large bowl, combine brownie mix, water, oil, egg, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth. Pour brownie batter into a 9×9-inch square baking pan lined with parchment paper and sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Bake in a preheated oven for 30 minutes.
While the brownies are baking, make the topping. In a bowl, stir together softened unsalted butter, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla. Fold in chopped pecans and semi-sweet chocolate chips.
Remove the brownies from the oven. Spoon the chocolate mixture over the partially baked brownies. Return to the oven and bake until a toothpick inserted into the middle of the brownies comes out clean or only with a few moist crumbs. Sprinkle sea salt flakes over the top of the brownies. Cool completely on a wire rack before cutting into squares.
