Slow Cooker Chicken Sandwiches

Not only is this week Thanksgiving, but it is also the Iron Bowl. The Iron Bowl is the annual football game between Auburn and Alabama. I’ve spent a lot of time planning our Thanksgiving meal and our tailgating menu for Saturday. I wanted something quick & easy for our tailgate and decided on these Beer Braised Onion Soup Chicken Sandwiches. There are only 4 ingredients in these sandwiches! Chicken, Beer, Onion Soup and Butter. They are super simple and taste SO good.

How to Make Beer Braised Onion Soup Chicken Sandwiches

This recipe is effortless to make with only four ingredients. Spray a 6-qt slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray. Place chicken breasts in the crockpot. Sprinkle with onion soup mix. Pour beer over the top. Add a stick of butter. Cover and cook on LOW. Shred the chicken with two forks and return to the slow cooker. Serve shredded chicken on sandwich or hamburger buns.

What to Serve with Beer Braised Chicken & Onions

We topped our sandwiches with some pickles and a little BBQ sauce. They would also be great with some cheese and mayonnaise. Either way, these sandwiches are an easy meal and tailgating recipe! Serve the sandwiches with some coleslaw, pasta salad, and baked beans. They are equally delicious with some french fries and deviled eggs!
