If you aren’t a fan of cottage cheese, you can swap it out for ricotta. I don’t eat cottage cheese out of the container, but I absolutely LOVE it in casseroles. If you have a cottage cheese hater, don’t tell them that it is in here. They will never know it’s there once it is mixed in with the cream cheese and sour cream.

I made this today using Ricotta instead of cottage cheese. I didn't do a layer of the cheese mixture, but rather mixed everything together, and it was great! Delicious recipe.
Can I cook half and freeze other
sure! that should be just fine.
Any suggestions if I can’t find the ragu cheese sauce?
You can always make your own cheese sauce Flour salt cream or half and half and 2% milk if you do that I would omit the cottage cheese just a suggestion 😉
Could you make this the night before and cook it the next morning?
I think that would be fine. Enjoy ????
I'm looking forward to trying this. Seems like I'm directed to your site alot lately!!
I am thinking of using the ricotta and adding shredded chicken for a make ahead meal. Think cooked chicken would dry out?
I think cooked chicken would be fine. Enjoy.
Very interesting combination of cheeses for mac and cheese. I haven't seen that before. Thanks very much for that idea.
