Can Chicken Spaghetti Be Frozen?
You can make this Cheesy Chicken Tetrazzini ahead of time and refrigerate or freeze for a quick meal later. To bake the casserole after freezing, thaw completely in the refrigerator overnight and bake as directed below. To reheat the casserole, thaw completely in the refrigerator overnight. Cover with foil and bake at 350ºF for 30 to 40 minutes, until heated through.

Equipment:
Ingredients:
- 8- oz thin spaghetti
- ½ cup butter
- 6 Tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2½ cups milk
- 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
- 1 (10.5-oz) can Unsalted Cream of Chicken Soup
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- 1 (4-oz) jar diced pimentos, drained
- salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 4 cups cooked chopped chicken
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350ºF. Lightly spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
- Cook spaghetti according to package directions. Drain.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook 1 minute. Slowly whisk in milk and cook until it starts to thicken, 3 or 4 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Stir in 1 cup cheddar cheese, cream of chicken or mushroom soup, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Add chicken, pimentos, and cooked spaghetti to cheese sauce and mix well.
- Transfer spaghetti mixture to prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with remaining ½ cup cheddar cheese.
- Bake for 30 to 40 minutes.
Notes:
- I use rotisserie chicken in this recipe, but you can use any cooked chicken you have on hand. Chicken breasts, chicken thighs, tenderloins, or canned chicken all work great.
- You can substitute leftover holiday turkey.
- I suggest using Unsalted Cream of Chicken & Mushroom Soups in this dish to control the sodium.
