When I think of Christmas, I think of cookies! I make more cookies in December than any other month in the year. Today I am sharing 15 Easy Christmas Cookies & Bars recipes that are perfect for the holidays. These are the best of the best recipes. Tried and true family favorites. I hear Santa has a few favorites on the list. All you need is a glass of milk and you are set!

All of the recipes are super easy to make and taste great! These also make GREAT homemade holiday gifts. I am actually making a few this weekend for holiday snacking and gifts.

Tips for Baking Homemade Cookies & Bars

  • One cup of flour weighs 4.25-ounces. To properly measure flour, give the flour a stir to loosen it up in the container. Use a spoon and lightly spoon the flour into your measuring cup. Use a flat straight edge (like the straight back of a knife) to level off the top of the flour in the measuring cup. Do NOT compact the flour in the measuring cup.
  • You can freeze cookie dough unbaked for a quick treat later. Scoop the dough into balls and place on a cookie sheet. Place the sheet in the freezer and freeze. Once the dough is frozen, transfer the balls to a freezer bag and bake.
  • There is no need to thaw the cookie dough before baking. Simply add a few minutes to the cooking time.
  • You can also freeze the baked cookies. Go ahead and whip up a double batch! Let the cookies cool and transfer to freezer ziplock bags. Place in the freezer and pull them out when you are ready to eat. They will only take a few minutes to thaw. You can even pop them in the microwave so they are slightly warm.
