One of my all-time favorite school lunchroom meals was grilled cheese day. I absolutely LOVED the super crispy sandwiches. I found the recipe for Toasted Cheese Sandwiches in my government cookbook and had to try it ASAP! OMG! These sandwiches tasted just like my childhood favorite! You must give this method a try ASAP! It is sure to become a family favorite!
How to Make Grilled Cheese in the Oven
These sandwiches are effortless to make with only three simple ingredients. Brush six slices of bread with melted butter on one side. Place the bread buttered side down in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet. Top each piece of bread with cheese slices. Cover with remaining bread slices. Brush the top of the sandwiches with melted butter. Bake in the oven until the cheese melts and the bread is golden brown and crispy.

- I use Sunbeam white bread. You can use any kind of bread that you enjoy.
- I use Kraft Deluxe American Cheese slices.
- You can use any type of cheese that you would like. You can even mix the cheeses for a combo flavor!

- You can use unsalted or salted butter.

- 12 slices Sunbeam white bread
- 4 Tbsp butter, melted
- 12 slices American cheese
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400ºF.
- Brush 6 slices of bread with melted butter on one side. Place butter side down on a rimmed baking sheet.
- Top each slice of bread with 2 slices of cheese. Cover with remaining bread slices.
- Brush tops of sandwiches with remaining butter.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until golden brown.
