  1. I did not cook the rice ahead of time. I used Uncooked Fast cook brown rice and mixed it in with the soup, sour cream Ham and cheese. I also added 2 cups of water and salt and pepper and dried thyme taste. Then I placed four large frozen (uncooked) chicken breast on top of the rice mixture. Added a little extra Swiss cheese on top of the chicken and baked uncovered at 350 for 60 minutes. It was easy and very good.

  2. I'm thinking you could also use chicken stock instead of water to flavor the rice and then every layer is seasoned. Just an idea!

  3. Seasonings are your friend here. I make a Blackened Cajun Chicken Cordon Bleu with a New Orleans butter cream sauce quite often. I would definitely recommend seasoning the chicken with any kind of Cajun seasoning and possibly adding a 2 teaspoons to the mix to give a little something extra. I have not made this yet but plan to tonight. I will be using my Cajun seasoning to give this flavor. Swiss cheese is definitely the way to go with this dish. It's going to pick up other flavors along the way. SEASON SEASON SEASON!!!!

  4. I've seen the ingredients several times in reciepe "cooked chicken" and it always stops me from cooking the dish. I don't know what the best chicken or how to cook it for this any suggestions?

    1. I love to use rotisserie chicken. You can bake chicken breasts at 425 for about 25 minutes. I will do this if I don't have any rotisserie chicken on hand. Bake several breasts and freeze the extra for later.

  5. Unfortunately mine did not turn out well. The sour cream taste was overwhelming and I used seasoned rotisserie chicken but the dish felt like it needed some other seasoning. I would probably use a different cheese too if I tried it again.

  6. Sounds delish! And easy. Will be making this for our missionaries – !!! Thanks!! Kitties looked especially cute yesterday – especially Jack!!
