How to Make Bacon Wrapped BBQ Chicken
This Grilled Bacon Wrapped BBQ Chicken is very easy to make. Simply season the chicken tenders with some BBQ seasoning and then wrap each tender with a slice of bacon. You may need to secure the bacon with a toothpick. Once the bacon is crispy and the chicken is done, brush the chicken with your favorite BBQ sauce. Easy peasy!
I used chicken tenderloins. You can also cut a chicken breast into strips. I suggest using regular cut bacon and not thick-cut bacon. The regular cut bacon will cook quicker.
My favorite bottled BBQ sauces are Williamson Brothers BBQ Sauce, Stubbs BBQ Sauce, and Sweet Baby Ray’s. For the BBQ seasoning, you can use store-bought or homemade. Here is the link to my homemade BBQ seasoning: https://www.plainchicken.com/bbq-seasoning/
How to Grill Chicken on the Grill
We grill on charcoal. I highly suggest using a Charcoal Chimney Starter instead of lighter fluid when grilling on charcoal. It makes a HUGE difference in the flavor of the food! When grilling this chicken you are going to want to rotate the chicken tenders often to avoid burning. As the bacon cooks, the grease will cause some flare-ups. Once the bacon has cooked down, there won’t be any flare-ups. Brush the chicken with your favorite BBQ sauce during the last 2 or 3 minutes of cooking. It took about 10 minutes for the chicken to reach an internal temperature of 165ºF.
How to Make Grilled Chicken Without a Grill
You can still make this Grilled Bacon Wrapped BBQ Chicken if you don’t have a grill. Prepare the chicken as directed and then bake on a rimmed baking sheet with foil and top with a cooking rack at 375ºF for about 20 minutes. Brush with BBQ sauce on both sides during the last few minutes.
What to Serve with BBQ Chicken
This chicken was a huge hit at our house. We both absolutely LOVE this chicken. It is great for tailgating, lunch, and dinner. You can serve these as an appetizer or main dish. I love how easy these are to make and that you can make them ahead of time and refrigerate overnight or freeze for later. Add these to your menu. I promise they will become a family favorite!

Grilled Bacon Wrapped BBQ Chicken
Ingredients:
- 2 lb fresh chicken tenderloins, approximately 14 tenderloins
- 2 Tbsp BBQ seasoning
- 14 slices of uncooked bacon, 1 slice for each tenderloin
- ½ cup BBQ sauce
Instructions:
- Sprinkle both sides of chicken tenderloins with BBQ seasoning.
- Wrap each tenderloin with one slice of bacon. Secure bacon with toothpicks if necessary.
- Prepare grill. Cook chicken until bacon is crisp and chicken has reached an internal temperature of 165ºF; approximately 10 minutes.
- Brush chicken on both sides with BBQ sauce. Remove from grill.
