Pin This RecipeEasy Skillet Pasta with Mushrooms
This quick Mushroom & Feta Orzo is a favorite at our house. It only has a few simple ingredients and tastes great. It is just as easy as pulling out a box of Rice-A-Roni but tastes a million times better. We make this several times a month and love it. Chicken Legs loves the mushrooms and I love the feta cheese. It is the best of both worlds for us!
How to Make Mushroom Orzo with Feta
This pasta is super easy to make with only a few simple ingredients. Melt butter or olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add sliced mushrooms and cook until soft and the liquid has evaporated. Add the orzo pasta to the pan and cook until it starts to get a golden brown color. Stir in garlic and chicken broth. Bring the pasta to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes, until soft. Stir in crumbled feta cheese. Garnish the orzo with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

I just made this recipe and really liked it. I added a cup of frozen peas because I love mushrooms and peas together. But I thought the feta was too strong of a cheese for my liking, and next time I’ll add crumbled goat’s cheese instead. But it was certainly an easy and fast recipe. Thank you!
Such an easy and yummy recipe!
I used Danish feta which has a lovely mind flavour and is very creamy, it worked very well. In addition to the mushrooms I also added half an onion, some chopped baby tomatoes and a bunch of baby spinach. Such a great recipe to use up what’s in the fridge.
I made this recipe tonight and it was delicious! I added 1 cup or so of frozen chopped spinach as it seemed similar to a Greek dish I know of. Next time, we will increase the amount of feta to make it even more flavorful. We really enjoyed this and will be making it a lot! 8 ounces of orzo made a lot for another meal for the 2 of us as a side dish.
It’s simmering right now. Loved the idea of spinach so I’m going to add a handful. I have to be sneaky to get hubby to eat his veggies. Thanks for the recipe. It’s smelling wonderful.
