This Smoked Sausage Cajun Alfredo is SO good! This was so good that we made it two days in a row! I’m still dreaming about it!! It reminded me a lot of our all-time favorite Chicken Lazone. There are only 5 ingredients in this dish, and it only took about 15 minutes from start to finish. I LOVE easy weeknight meals like this!
How to Make Smoked Sausage Cajun Alfredo
This pasta is super easy to make. Start with cooking some pasta. While the pasta is cooking, brown some smoked sausage in a skillet. Add heavy cream and Cajun seasoning; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer gently for 3-4 minutes or until mixture begins to thicken. Remove from heat, stir in Parmesan cheese. Add pasta to the sauce and toss.
- To cut down on the calories, I used turkey smoked sausage. It tasted great and we couldn’t tell any difference from the regular smoked sausage.
- Here is our recipe for Homemade Cajun/Creole Seasoning: https://www.plainchicken.com/creolecajun-seasoning-secret-recipe/
- If you are worried about this being spicy, you can certainly reduce the amount of cajun seasoning.
- You can use any shape of pasta that you prefer.

Just made this tonight using campanelle pasta and it was just outstanding and beautiful! Doubling for company next week!Brussels sprouts were a great side with it too!
What pasta is in the picture?
Gemelli is the shape of pasta
Can this be made as a freezer meal? Would I make it first then reheat? ( new to freezer meals)
i used roger wood lumber jack spicy smoked sausage and added a lot of cayenne pepper powder, some additional paprika, and a little bit of tony chacheres (i don't think this one made a difference), because i wanted a spicy version of this, and it was great. i also used some more parmesan cheese, because i love parmesan cheese.

Is it possible to use milk instead of heavy cream?
What kind of pasta is this ? Sounds awesome , but wondered what pasta you used . A must try .
You can use your favorite shape – penne, elbow, bowtie, campanelle, fusilli, gemelli.
I made this for dinner the other night and it was awesome! I used andouille sausage and penne pasta. Not only was it fantastic when I made it, the left overs were even better 🙂
I needed a quick and easy recipe for dinner last night, and this was it. It was fantastic! A keeper for sure. Thanks!
This is soooo good! Have made several times!! Question…would this also work if I just used chicken instead?
absolutely – enjoy!
Awesome recipe! I added in some diced tomatoes and spinach for some extra veggies, and it tasted amazing! Not too spicy, but just enough kick. Thanks for my new go-to pasta recipe!
Inspired me… But I made a chicken & sausage Cajun Alfredo with pepper strips, onions, and mushrooms. Thanks for the dinner idea!
This dish was easy, quick, and absolutely DELICIOUS!
I have a jar of Alfredo sauce. Could I substitute that for the heavy cream and parm?
Lori, did you try that? I was thinking the same thing!
I plan to use premade Ragú Classic Alfredo sauce, Hillshire Smoked Cajun Andouille Sausage, and Penne Pasta with your Cajun/Creole Seasoning tomorrow night for my picky eater. He will likely sprinkle parmesan over top.
Jan – I did and it worked great! Love this recipe!
That’s exactly what I do, too, and it’s great every time!
Just served this for lunch. Husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed this and decided it was a keeper recipe. The color of mine wasn't as appealing as yours, but that did not deter the meal at all. Many thanks.
This was dinner tonight and was incredible. Thanks for another amazing recipe!
SO glad you enjoyed it, Michelle!!
I made this for dinner tonight with bowtie pasta. It made a perfect amount for my husband and me for dinner, plus enough for him to take for lunch tomorrow. It was different in a good way! We both love smoked sausage and my husband adores anything Cajun! Will definitely be making this again! Thanks for the great recipe!
