I hope everyone had a terrific Thanksgiving! Now that the turkey is out of the way, we can start thinking about football again. This is rivalry week in college football. There are tons of big games going on this weekend.
We are watching the Iron Bowl at home. We already have our tailgating menu planned and this Hot Salsa Dip is definitely on the menu! Salsa, cream cheese, taco seasoning, and cheese. This dip is so delicious! It is great for watching football or a Cinco de Mayo party!
How to Make Hot Salsa Dip
This dip is super easy to make. Combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and taco seasoning. Spread into bottom of a baking dish. Top the cream cheese mixture with salsa. Sprinkle more cheese on top of salsa and bake until bubbly.
- Feel free to add some veggies or meat to the dip. Onions, bell peppers, olives, ground beef, or chicken would all be delicious.
- The flavor and heat will all depend on what salsa you choose. My favorite store-bought salsas are Maeto’s and Kylito’s. I find them at Walmart.

I am going to try this in my crock pot, sounds delicious!!!
can this be made in a crock pot
I think it would be fine in the slow cooker.
What do you think of adding chicken to it?
Sounds good to me! Enjoy!
Thanks Steph for your quick reply…..that was quicker than I could buy the ingredients!!! Also many thanks for the advice about the cream cheese xx
Could this be made and frozen?? I'm looking for things to freeze ahead for our caravan trip and this looks ideal….any left overs could be made into stuffed shells, making another meal.
I don't see a problem with freezing it. You will want to use regular full fat cream cheese – sometimes the low fat or fat free cream cheese separates when you freeze it.
This sounds amazing! War eagle
