This Smoked Sausage Cajun Alfredo is SO good! This was so good that we made it two days in a row! I’m still dreaming about it!! It reminded me a lot of our all-time favorite Chicken Lazone. There are only 5 ingredients in this dish, and it only took about 15 minutes from start to finish. I LOVE easy weeknight meals like this!
How to Make Smoked Sausage Cajun Alfredo
This pasta is super easy to make. Start with cooking some pasta. While the pasta is cooking, brown some smoked sausage in a skillet. Add heavy cream and Cajun seasoning; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer gently for 3-4 minutes or until mixture begins to thicken. Remove from heat, stir in Parmesan cheese. Add pasta to the sauce and toss.
- To cut down on the calories, I used turkey smoked sausage. It tasted great and we couldn’t tell any difference from the regular smoked sausage.
- Here is our recipe for Homemade Cajun/Creole Seasoning: https://www.plainchicken.com/creolecajun-seasoning-secret-recipe/
- If you are worried about this being spicy, you can certainly reduce the amount of cajun seasoning.
- You can use any shape of pasta that you prefer.

OMG! This recipe is so good and easy to make. Perfect meal for during the week.
My wife and son loved it. Even had enough leftover for us to eat again. First recipe I’ve used from this site, and plan to to start using many more. Thank you!
What kind of pasta did you use in this recipe? I was trying to figure out by looking at the pictures. 🙂
I used Gemelli Dry Pasta
For some reason none of the stores around here carry Gemelli Dry Pasta. Have you used a different pasta for this recipe that worked well?
Penne, bowtie, fusilli
Could you double this to serve in a 9 x 13 pan for a potluck party?
I made this tonight for my family, since it was cajun, i had to add the holy trinity. Otherwise, I made as directed. Very good! We’ll definitely have it again
Do you have the nutritional info on this recipe?
Btw, this was a HIT with my family. My college kid especially liked it.
I did sauté some onion and garlic in there as well, threw some basil on top
Here are two websites that you can use to estimate the nutritional information:

This was a huge hit with me and my husband. Will definitely make again and again and again.
My family loved this dish! It’s a good one to toss in any extra veggies you have in your fridge too 😋. Definitely on our rotation!
Would this work in the crockpot or smart oven? I don’t have a stove but this sounds delicious.
No. The sauce needs to be cooked on the stove.
Made this tonight! So so yummy. A new fave in the rotation. I only added about 1tsp of Cajun seasoning. I used Tony’s and 1 tbsp would have been super salty. I added some garlic, green onions, and tomatoes as well and it was perfect!
Look for unsalted cajun seasoning next time or try our Homemade Cajun Seasoning: https://www.plainchicken.com/creolecajun-seasoning-secret-recipe/
I made this tonight and it is so very yummy! It did not thicken up at all for me so I added a corn starch slurry at the end. It has just the right amount of seasoning and has an amazing creaminess. This will definitely be something I make again.
Hello – looking to make this and have a lot of Chicken. Anyone make it with chicken and how was it?
chicken would be fine
Thank you for the inspirational recipe! I admit I used it more as ‘guidelines’, but it still helped me make a delicious dinner. (Those curious, I added onion, orange bell pepper, garlic, and as I only had 1.5c of cream, I added milk and about 1/4c cream cheese.)
I followed your extra ingredients, plus added kale after I added the cream and Cajun spice. In addition to the smoked Turkey sausage, I added two diced checked breasts. This is my new favorite meal. With the extra ingredients it adds more flavor. Thank you for this recipe!!
This was very tasty! I saw a comment about grease-drain sausage in a colander & proceed with other directions. I added onion and red and green bell pepper and used Slap Ya Mama Cajun seasoning- From SETX. Also added shrimp. But this was good!!!
I Love this! I’ve made it quite often and my 14 yr old Grandson loves it,too. I dbl the recipe for leftovers. The only thing I do differently is I use Old Bay seasoning and smoked and andouille sausage.
Thanks
I have made this twice now and it is so delicious. It’s seriously become my favorite dish & bonus is that it’s super easy! I added a little garlic, Italian seasoning & red pepper flakes because we like spicy stuff. Such a great recipe!
I love this recipe, instead of Cajun seasoning I use taco seasoning
Used venison bologna ring, omitted the Cajun because the venison is peppery enough! Delicious recipe there weren’t any leftovers my family of five ate every bite! Thank you!
Made this tonight with penne pasta. Soooo good! My husband is usually picky about pasta but loved it as well! Definitely adding to our dinner rotation
SO glad it was a hit!
