While I love going to eat at a fancy steakhouse, I honestly prefer to eat steak that we cook at home. This BBQ Steak Marinade has been on repeat at our house. This marinade is super easy to make and is packed full of flavor! Barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, steak sauce, Montreal steak seasoning, hot sauce, and minced garlic.
I know some people don’t believe in marinating steaks, but we always marinate our steaks before cooking. We love all the extra flavor a marinade adds to the meat. Give this a try the next time you are having a steak dinner. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
How to Make BBQ Steak Marinade
This marinade is super simple to make with pantry staples. In a bowl, whisk together barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, steak sauce, Montreal steak seasoning, hot sauce, and minced garlic. Season steaks with kosher salt and black pepper. Place the steaks in a gallon ziplock bag. Pour the marinade over the steaks and refrigerate for up to 24 hours, turning the steaks every few hours.
How to Cook Steaks
Remove the steaks from the marinade and bring to room temperature. When ready to eat, prepare the grill. If using a gas grill, Clean the grill grates and brush with oil. Preheat the grill to high heat. Sear steaks for 3 minutes per side. Flip the steaks and reduce heat to medium-low. Cover the grill lid and continue cooking until the steaks reach your desired temperature. Transfer the steaks to a cutting board or platter, tent loosely with foil, and let rest for 5 minutes. This will ensure the juices stay in the meat rather than running right out. Slice the steak against the grain.

Let’s talk about the perfect side dishes to create a mouthwatering feast. First off, consider serving up your perfectly grilled steak with a side of loaded baked potatoes – that creamy, cheesy goodness is a match made in heaven. And let’s not forget about a medley of grilled vegetables, like zucchini, bell peppers, and mushrooms, for a fresh and charred contrast.
For a touch of Southern comfort, whip up a batch of buttery cornbread muffins that’ll soak up every drop of that delicious BBQ sauce. Don’t forget a crisp mixed greens salad with a tangy vinaigrette to add a refreshing touch to your plate.
