Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, they’re a flavor explosion that’s hard to resist. Whether served alongside your morning eggs or as a side dish for dinner, these potatoes are always a hit.

How to Make Home Fries

This side dish is super easy to make with only a few simple ingredients. Scrub potatoes and cut into 1/2-inch cubes. Place potato cubes in a large pot and cover with water. Bring the pot to a boil over medium-high heat and cook for 3 to 4 minutes, until fork tender. Drain the potatoes and run under cold water. Drain well.

Melt butter and olive oil in a large cast iron skillet. Add potatoes to the pan and cook until brown and crispy on the outside. Add chopped green onions, garlic cloves, rosemary, and thyme. Ingredients:

  • -lbs small red potatoes cut into ½-inch cubes
  • 1 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 4 green onions thinly sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 Tbsp chopped fresh rosemary
  • 2 Tbsp fresh thyme leaves
  • salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  • Put the potato cubes in a large saucepot and cover with water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat and cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Drain the potatoes in a colander and run under cold water to stop the cooking process. Drain well and set aside.
  • Melt the butter with the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the potatoes and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are browned and crisp on all sides, about 10 minutes.
  • Add the green onions, garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper and cook, stirring constantly, for 1 to 2 minutes.
